California Health Sciences University (CHSU) will hold its second annual White Coat Ceremony for the College of Pharmacy on Saturday, October 3, 2015.
Each year, the CHSU College of Pharmacy welcomes new pharmacy students into the profession through the bestowal of their first white coat – a symbol of professionalism. This year, just over half of the pharmacy class of 2019 are from the Central Valley.

“Donning the white coat today marks an important transition for our new doctoral students, stated Dr. Wendy Duncan, SVP for Academic Affairs, Provost and Interim Dean of Pharmacy at CHSU. “From that moment forward, their actions and decisions must be guided by the most important principle in their professional lives – the welfare of their patients.”

Witnessed by their friends, families and faculty, the pharmacy students will read the “CHSU College of Pharmacy Class of 2019 Pledge of Professionalism,” developed by first year pharmacy student, Tiffany Do and adopted by her class. All students will sign the pledge to signify their commitment and acceptance of the expectations and responsibilities of the profession of pharmacy.
Dr. Max D. Ray, Dean Emeritus of the College of Pharmacy at Western University of Health Sciences, will deliver the keynote address.
