CHSU’s Dean of the Proposed College of Osteopathic Medicine is Appointed to Serve on the Board of the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians (ACOEP)

California Health Sciences University is pleased to announce that John Graneto, DO, MEd, FACOP, FACOEP-dist, our Dean of the proposed College of Osteopathic Medicine, was recently appointed to serve on the leadership team of American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians (ACOEP).
ACOEP is a professional organization comprised of attending physicians, residents and medical students across the United States who have dedicated themselves to the advancement of the field of emergency medicine, as well as their careers. It is the organization’s mission to promote patient-centric, holistic emergency care consistent with the osteopathic philosophy, practiced by all emergency medicine professionals.
Dr. Graneto says, “It is such an honor to be serve on the board and to give back to the profession by helping ACOEP achieve its goals. I look forward to further promoting the osteopathic philosophy and will continue to raise awareness of osteopathic medicine on a national level, as well as in our local community.”
Dr. Graneto joined CHSU in November 2017. In his role as Dean of the proposed College of Osteopathic Medicine, he serves as an integral part of moving the University forward in the accreditation process and advising on the construction of the permanent campus. He is also laying the groundwork for the new college and exploring opportunities for clerkships and residency programs throughout the region as well as helping to achieve the goal of matriculating the first class of students for the DO program as early as 2020.
