Giving Thanks and Showing Appreciation to Our Dedicated College of Pharmacy Preceptors
November 15, 2018
On Friday, November 9th, CHSU’s College of Pharmacy Office of Experiential Education hosted their 4th annual Preceptor Appreciation Dinner. This event was held in honor of the IPPE (Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience) and APPE (Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience) preceptors from within the community, as well as our faculty members, that participate in educating and training the future pharmacists of the Central Valley and beyond.
At the event, David Fuentes, PharmD, Executive Associate Dean of the College of Pharmacy, provided a development session to our preceptors on the Pharmacists’ Patient Care Process. This session was presented in a Team-Based Learning (TBL) approach, so that the preceptors could understand more about how the curriculum is delivered to our students in the classroom.
Fourteen preceptors were honored by receiving a CHSU Value award, which ties specifically to the mission and values of the University. In addition, some Faculty members received an award to recognize all of their hard work and dedication that they provide to the students.
CHSU would like to thank our Board of Trustees, Clinical Faculty, Preceptor Advisory Committee, Prescriber Led physicians, and preceptors for all that they do to support the students and the University. CHSU is proud to partner with all of the preceptors who provide students with exceptional rotation experiences needed to complete their training as a pharmacist.
A special thanks to the Office of Experiential Education team, including Dr. David Fuentes, Adriana Sanchez, Monica Singh, and Maribel Gonzalez for their hard work and dedication in providing students with career-building practical experiences in various areas of pharmacy, as well as hosting a successful event!
