Wendy Duncan, PhD Announced as Dean of the CHSU College of Pharmacy
February 5, 2018
Wendy Duncan, PhD, has been appointed to serve as Dean of the CHSU College of Pharmacy on a permanent basis, serving jointly as Provost and SVP for Academic Affairs for the University. Having joined CHSU in 2015 as Provost and serving as interim Dean of Pharmacy for the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 academic years, Dr. Duncan has been instrumental in our success, leading CHSU’s accreditation and strategic planning efforts, and the development of our Doctor of Pharmacy program.
A graduate of the University of Toronto with a Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutics, Dr. Duncan has served in academia for almost 30 years, including service as a dean of two colleges of pharmacy prior to joining CHSU. Dr. Duncan has also published numerous scholarly research articles in the areas of pharmaceutics and pharmacy education. Additionally, Dr. Duncan is an expert in the team-based learning methodologies utilized in the CHSU curriculum, and has served as a site evaluator of other pharmacy schools for the Accreditation Council for Pharmaceutical Education (“ACPE”), CHSU’s accrediting body, for over a decade.
Dr. Duncan is deeply committed to the mission and values of the College and strives to ensure they are solidified into the culture and daily practices of all faculty, staff and students. With her focus on student and faculty success, implementation of our mission to help our region, and vision to design innovative curriculum to support our interprofessional integration with all future programs and local health care providers, Dr. Duncan has demonstrated that she is the best candidate for both roles to move our University forward.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Duncan on continuing to lead CHSU and our College of Pharmacy towards becoming fully accredited and as we look forward to graduating our inaugural class of pharmacy students this May.
