CHSU Library Expands Student Technology Access Through NNLM Region 5 Supplemental Technology Improvement Award
September 20, 2026

The California Health Sciences University (CHSU) Health Sciences Library has received a $3,000 NNLM Region 5 Supplemental Technology Improvement Award. Led by Kyle Robinson, MLIS, AHIP, the project will expand student access to essential technology, reliable health information, and digital academic resources.
The supplemental award builds upon the CHSU Library’s previously funded NNLM Technology Improvement project. With the additional funding, the library will add four laptops to its short-term lending program for CHSU students.
The laptops will help students maintain uninterrupted access to electronic textbooks, biomedical databases, PubMed, course materials, research tools, exam software, and other university resources. This support will be especially valuable for students who experience a temporary computer failure or lose access to a personal device.
By expanding its laptop lending program, the CHSU Library aims to reduce technology-related barriers and support continuity of learning. The project will also help ensure that students can access the evidence-based information and digital resources needed for their academic studies, research, and clinical preparation.
The CHSU Library team continues to demonstrate its commitment to student success by expanding equitable access to technology and reliable educational resources, supporting CHSU’s mission to prepare health care professionals who will serve and improve the health of the Central Valley community.
