Experience a Day in the Life of a CHSU-COM Medical Student

For prospective students who have ever wondered what it is like to attend medical school, California Health Sciences University is offering an opportunity to experience it firsthand.

On Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. the CHSU College of Osteopathic Medicine is inviting future physicians to explore medical student life during its annual Med Student for a Day event.

The event is being hosted by the following CHSU-COM student organizations: the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California (OPSC), Student Osteopathic Medical Association (SOMA), Student American Academy of Osteopathy (SAAO), Valley Reach, and American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) Student Association.

Prospective students can expect to experience team-based learning, explore the CHSU Simulation Center, and practice introductory clinical skills used to prepare medical students for patient care. Attendees will also learn about osteopathic manipulative medicine through basic hands-on activities and visit the CHSU Teaching Kitchen to discover how nutrition and culinary medicine can support disease prevention and patient health.

During the lunch hour, prospective students will have the opportunity to connect with current CHSU-COM students and learn more about the university and the medical student experience.

Space is limited, and advance registration is required. To reserve a spot, prospective students must complete both of the following steps:

  1. Submit the Registration Form.
  2. Pay the $5 participation fee through OPSC. After opening the payment link, select the “OPSC – Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California” category on the store page to submit the fee.

Both steps must be completed to secure a spot. The event will be held at 2500 Alluvial Avenue in Clovis, where prospective students can experience a day in the life of a CHSU medical student.
