Local Clovis Community College Center students hoping to someday become pharmacists will soon have a new pathway to their dream career.

A $50,000 grant from the California State University system will help create a transfer program that will give aspiring pharmacy students who do well in school guaranteed admission to California Health Sciences University in Clovis.

To get the perks, students must attend Clovis Community College Center, formerly Willow International, for their general coursework. They must also earn a bachelor’s degree with at least a 3.0 GPA, earning at least a C average in all prerequisite courses.

The pathway also includes a partnership with Clovis Unified schools. High schoolers will be given all the information they need about the program and which high school classes will best prepare them for pharmacy prerequisite courses.
