CHSU Welcomes Seventh Cohort of Medical Students in the Class of 2030

The campus was buzzing with excitement as the seventh cohort of medical students in the class of 2030 started class this week at the California Health Sciences University (CHSU) College of Osteopathic in Clovis.

With 36% of this new cohort from the Central Valley, and about 90% from California, CHSU hopes most of its medical students will complete residencies here and practice locally.

The 162 new student doctors in the Class of 2030 are part of the over 640 medical students currently enrolled at the CHSU medical school.

“With our seventh cohort starting their medical school journey this week, we are proud to have
matriculated over 1,000 medical students since we launched in 2020,”

Many of the CHSU medical students completed their undergraduate education in California and some of the top feeder schools include Fresno State, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, UCLA, UC Merced, UC Berkeley, UC Santa Barbara, and UC Riverside. CHSU’s own master’s program is also one of the top feeder programs for its medical school. Thirty master’s program graduates have been accepted to the medical school at CHSU.

Over 3,700 candidates applied, and several hundred applicants were interviewed for fall 2026 admission to CHSU-COM. Admission offers were made to carefully selected candidates after a holistic review of their overall portfolio, including MCAT scores, GPA trends, letters of recommendation, personal statement, interview, completion of pre-requisite courses, and many other factors.

Having already graduated its first three cohorts of osteopathic physicians, California Health Sciences University (CHSU) is fulfilling its mission by training and retaining physicians to serve our local community.
