Dr. Asim Abu-Baker Presents at Social Pharmacy Workshop in Boston, MA

Asim-Abu-Baker Dr. Asim Abu-Baker, Associate Professor in the CHSU  College of Pharmacy, recently presented a peer-  reviewed workshop at the 18th International Social  Pharmacy Workshop in Boston, Massachusetts on  August 6 and 7 in collaboration with Dr. Jill Lavigne,  Professor in the Wegmans School of Pharmacy St.  John Fisher College, Rochester, New York.


The workshop titled, “Developing Population Based Health Literacy and Pain Management Quality Improvement through Community-Based Data Collection in Sequential Community Experiential Education Rotations and a Required Population Based Healthcare Course: Test-driving Tools, Strategize using Simulated Results, and Test the Feasibility of Collaboration on a Manuscript,” presented tools for measuring health literacy services in community pharmacies and mapping those services using geographic information systems (GIS) software based on parameters such as poverty level.
