May 14, 2018
Armen Nalbandyan, third year College of Pharmacy student at CHSU and faculty member, Dr. Vinayak Shenoy, Assistant Professor of Pharmacology presented a poster display at the annual conference, Experimental Biology in San Diego, California.
The poster presented was titled “Compound 21 (C21), a Selective Angiotensin Type 2 (AT2) Receptor Agonist Attenuates Bleomycin-induced Alveolar Epithelial Cell Death Compound 21 (C21), a selective Angiotensin Type 2 (AT2)” with contributors Armen Nalbandyan, Dong Le (P4 student), Dr. Anitha Shenoy (CHSU), Ulrike Muscha Steckelings (University of Southern Denmark), Michael Katovich (University of Florida) and Dr. Vinayak Shenoy.
Experimental Biology is an annual meeting of five societies, which includes more than 14,000 researchers and 25 guest societies with primary focus areas such as, anatomy, biochemistry and molecular biology, investigative pathology, pharmacology and physiology. This annual meeting features award lectures, workshops, oral and poster presentations, supplies and publications required for research labs, experimental study and more.
“Attending the EB2018 conference was a professionally rewarding experience. In addition, I had the opportunity to socializing with colleagues from other institutions and network,” said Armen. He added, “The two main reasons I recommend others to attend the conference is to broaden their horizons and strengthen presentation skills. Students will learn a lot about presenting about their own work, and seeing people’s reaction, as well as receiving suggestions and new ways to improve their work.”
