On Saturday, October, 15, 2016, The Office of Experiential Education at California Health Sciences University held their second annual Preceptor Appreciation Dinner.
Hosted by the Office of Experiential Education, the highlight of the evening was Dr. Wendy Duncan, SVP for Academic Affairs and Provost at CHSU, “talk show” where she asked a panel of CHSU pharmacy students to share their Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences. The students provided their personal experiences and appreciation for their preceptors who influenced their ability to fulfill the College mission and support the efforts toward transforming pharmacy into a primary care profession.
Most of the attendees expressed how much they enjoyed hearing about the student experiences and that their hard work as a preceptor was being recognized.
One preceptor said, “hearing their experiences takes me back to when I was a student doing the same things on my rotation”.
